Soik, Nancy (19 SEP 1959)
Miss Nancy Soik became the bride of James Telford during a ceremony before the Rev. H.L. Crubel in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, on Saturday, Sept. 19th, 1959. The 9:30 o’clock Mass was said for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Soik, Milwaukee, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Telford, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).
Pink, yellow and white gladioli bouquets were placed on the church altar.
Miss Soik, given in marriage by her father, was seen wearing a floor length gown of white chiffon. A pearl crown held her fingertip veil and she carried a heart shaped bridal bouquet of lily of the valley and gardenias.
Miss Cecelia Soik and Miss Barbara Soik of Milwaukee were maid of honor and bridesmaid for their sister. White hats and gloves were worn with their blue chiffon street length dresses, fashioned with scoop neckline. Lily of the valley and pink asters with streamers of white chrysanthemums comprised the bouquets they carried.
Serving the groom were John Szymanski of Withee as best man, and his brother, William Telford of Owen as groomsman.
The wedding breakfast was served at the Legion Hall in Owen and the evening dance was also held there.
Mrs. Telford attended the Holy Angels Academy and her husband the Owen High School. She is employed by the Wis. Telephone Company and he is in the U.S. Army.
Their wedding trip will take them through northern Minnesota and on returning they will live at 7504 Granrosa St., Milwaukee.
