Miller, George (16 JUN 1917 - 2 MAY 2011)
George Miller, 93, of Unity, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011, at
the Colonial Center in Colby.
His funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity. The Rev. Al Houtz will
officiate.
A visitation will be held Friday at the church in Unity, from 9:30
a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at St. John's
Cemetery, Unity.
George was born June 16, 1917, to Jennie (Helmke) Miller and George
Miller Sr. in the town of Unity. He attended Sunshine Grade School
in the town of Unity and Riplinger High School. George was joined
in marriage to Wavaglee Pribnow on Oct. 18, 1941, at the United
Church of Christ in Colby. George and Wavaglee owned a farm in the
town of Unity.
George enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and camping, he
enjoyed his tractors and snowmobiling. He loved animals, dancing
with his wife and making apple pies. Most of all, George enjoyed
spending time with his family.
He is lovingly survived by his daughters, Christine (Jim) Thieme of
Colby and Merry (Gene) Gregory of Unity. George is further survived
by his grandsons, Travis Thieme, Jason Thieme, and Derek (Debbie)
Thieme; his step-granddaughters, Angela (Jim) Ericson, Christina
(Marty) Pierce and Elizabeth (Bill) Johnson; three
great-stepgrandsons and one great-granddaughter.
George was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife,
Wavaglee.
