Nissula, Maria (6 SEP 1886 - 20 NOV 1959)
At 1:30 Monday afternoon final rites were conducted for Mrs. John Nissula, 73, from the Bethany Lutheran Church here. The Rev. Karl G. Wilkman officiated at the service, with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery.
Floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. Arne Holpanen, Carol Kangas, Lilla Kyle and Mrs. Leslie Buss. William Kangas, Martin Harycki, Clifford Hakola, Arvin Gummerson, Frank Karye and Neil Kylala served as pallbearers.
The deceased was born Sept. 6, 1886 in Finland and passed away Nov. 20th, 1959 at Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley. She was 17 years of age when she came to this country, arriving here in 1903. On April 12, 1912, she was united in marriage to John Nissula in a ceremony performed at Ely, Minn. Two years later the couple moved to their farm in the Town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.) where she had since made her home.
She is survived by two sons, Henry and John Jr. of Tomah and Greenwood, respectively; two daughters, Mrs. Milton (Bertha) Seaman, Greenwood, and Mrs. George (Esther) Wnukowski, Withee; two sisters, Emma Katonen and Sukri Nissula, both of Ashby, Mass., and eight grandchildren.
