Madsen, Barbaras "Bob" #2 (10 APR 1879 - 8 DEC 1959)
Friends and relatives of Barbaras "Bob" Madsen paid their final respect to him Friday afternoon when funeral services were conducted from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home. Rev. Byrl Knudsen, pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, was in charge of the service, with burial being made in the parish Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Viggo Rasmussen, Jens Smith, Pete Madsen, Carl Riber, Earl Jensen and Emil A. Hansen. In charge of the floral offerings were Mesdames Jens Smith, Earl Jensen, Einar Larson and Pete Madsen.
During the service vocal selections were rendered by Rev. Duane Morschek and Mrs. Morschek accompanied him at the organ.
Bob, as he was commonly known by his many friends, passed away Dec. 8th, 1959 after having suffered a stroke. He had attained the age of 80 years and 8 months, being born April 10, 1879 in Denmark.
On the 24th of Dec., 1907, he was united in marriage to Anna Clausen in a ceremony performed at Withee. For years the couple farmed successfully in the towns of Hixon and Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.) until his retirement more than 10 years ago.
His wife preceded him in death, passing away in 1949.
He is survived by a brother, Chris, of Stevens Point; a daughter, Mrs. Wallace (Marie) Wood, Withee; two stepsons, Peter and Chris Christophersen, both of Withee; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
