St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Curtiss was the setting for the wedding Saturday, Dec. 12, 1959 of Miss Brenda Ann Grandy and James Becker Jr.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Howard Grandy, Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. James Becker Sr., route 1, Medford.
The Rev. Theodore C. Predoehl officiated at the 2:00 p.m. ceremony. Darlene Manglos played the wedding marches and Mrs. Glen Buchanan accompanied Mrs. Ethel Johnson as she sang "O, Promise Me" and "O, Perfect Love."
As the bride was given in marriage by her father, she wore a floor length a skirt tiered in the back with ruffles. Her fingertip length veil fell from a rhinestone tiara and she carried a bouquet of red and white carnations.
Miss Janet Buss of Minneapolis was maid of honor and Mary Grandy of Abbotsford was junior bridesmaid. Miss Buss wore a waltz length dress of pink gown of lace over satin styled with a bateau neckline with a matching stole, long sleeves and carried a bouquet of yellow and white carnations. The junior bridesmaid wore an identically styled dress in pale blue and carried a similar bouquet.
Ralph Grandy of Abbotsford was best man and the junior groomsman was Ronald Johnson of Withee. Clarence Johnson of Curtiss ushered.
Following the ceremony a reception was held and a supper served at the Evangelical Lutheran Church dining hall. An evening dance was held in Dorchester Memorial Hall.
The bride is a graduate of Owen-Withee High School and has been employed by the Thorp Finance Corp. in Thorp. Mr. Becker is a farmer and milk hauler. Following a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Mackinac, the couple will make their home on route 1, Medford.
