Mogensen, Marie (2 NOV 1882 - 29 JAN 1960)
Mrs. Theodore Mogensen, a resident of the Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) community for the past 51 years, passed away at her home in the Village of Withee Friday night. She had been ill for several months.
Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock Sunday afternoon from Nazareth Lutheran Church with Rev. Byrl Knudsen officiating. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Brady Vamstead, Arthur Laine, Andrew Olsen, Albert Jensen. Pallbearers were Harold Christensen, John Jalling, Alfred Frost, Martin Paulsen, Karl Jensen and Chris Frost. Carrying the floral offerings were Mesdames Martin Paulsen, Mike Sorenson, Peter Zasoba, John Jalling, Harold Christensen and Miss Alfa Holm.
The deceased was the daughter of the late Hans and Marie Petersen, being born Nov. 2, 1882 in Denmark. On the 2nd of February, 1909, she was united in marriage with Theodore Mogensen in a ceremony performed at Cordova, Neb. Later that same year the couple moved to Withee where they farmed for years prior to their retirement and moving into the village proper.
Her passing and long suffering is mourned by a son, Harry of Chicago, Ill.; four daughters, Mrs. Paul (Ellen) Tomich, Withee, Mrs. Tony (Gerda) Viatonis, Highland Park, Ill., Mrs. James (Agnes) Peterson, Owen, and Mrs. James (Rigmor) Steffens, Chicago, Ill., and eight grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death, passing away in May 1907.
