Mrs. Louise Kauffman, 87, died at the home of Mrs. Clara Rollins at 4 o’clock a.m. Sunday, February 25, 1956.
Mrs. Kauffman, nee Louise Jacobs was born at Elroy, December 12, 1868. She received her education there and on November 4. 1887, she was married There to William Harrison Kauffman. In 1901 the family moved to Clark County and settled on a farm three miles west of Loyal. In 1914 they moved into Loyal to a home they had built in the west part of the city. Mr. Kauffman died in 1932. For the past seven years Mrs. Kauffman has made her home with Mrs. Rollins.
She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Loyal American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by four sons, Vernard of Loyal; Ray of Alexandria, Virginia; Harley of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Paul of Eugene, Oregon. A daughter, a son, three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. Eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Osborn of Augusta, and Mrs. Myrtle Pearshall of Elroy, also survive Mrs. Kauffman.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist church at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Charles Swanson officiated. Burial was in the Loyal cemetery.

Funeral rites were held in the Methodist Church Wednesday at 2 p.m. for Louise Kauffman, who died at the home of Mrs. Clara Rollins at 4 a.m. February 26.
The hymns "Only a Touch" and "Beyond the Sunset", were sung by Mrs. G. W Nelson and Mrs. Ray Prior. Mrs. Bryon Zepplin was organist. Rev. Charles Swan officiated at the services. Burial was in the Loyal cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jesse Raab, Vern Smith, J. R. Thomas, Fred Helking, Ray Prior, and Henry Boe.
Among the relatives from away who attended the services were Ray A. Kauffman, Alexandria, Virginia; Harley H. Kauffman, Flagstaff, Arizona; Mrs. Clara Osborne and family, Augusta; Mrs. Myrtle Pearsall and family, Elroy; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Rickman, Wisconsin Rapids; Mrs. Alvin Rodgers, Wahpeton, North Dakota.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Whipple, Waupaca; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Bradshaw, Osseo; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Kauffman, Reedsburg; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jewell, Yuba; Mrs. Leo Staley and Mrs. Gladys Bailey, Hillsbobo.
Mr. and Mrs. Ervin J. Steiger, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Jacobson and Mrs. Cora Mehler, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Baird, Greenwoon; and Glen Shune, Spencer.
