Miller, Orin #2 (22 APR 1882 - 29 MAR 1960)

 

Orin Amos Miller, who had been resident of the Town of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.) for most his life span, passed away March 29, 1960 in a hospital at Rhinelander, Wis.  Death was due to complications of old age.  He had attained the age of 77 years.

 

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock from Nazareth Lutheran Church at Withee.  The parish pastor, Rev. Byrl Knudsen, officiated with burial being made at Longwood.

 

Vocal selections were rendered during the church service by Mrs. Kenneth Phillips with Louise Hansen serving as accompanist.

 

Pallbearers were James Boylan, John Ericksmoen, Malcolm Capes, Ray Missling, Ed Cizek and Toivo Nevela.  In charge of the floral offerings were Mesdames Boylan, Ericksmoen, Missling, Cizek and Nevela.

 

The deceased was born April 22, 1882 in the Town of Longwood, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Miller.  He spent his boyhood and manhood in the community, being engaged in logging and farming.  In 1908 he was united in marriage to the late Rua Thorne, who preceded him in death, passing away in 1939.

 

He is survived by a brother, John of New Post, R.I., and four daughters, Mrs. Bert (Dorothy) Spefford, Rhinelander, Mrs. Forest (Lula) Stewart, Thorp, Mrs. Chris (Vera) Ellei, Withee, and Mrs. Alfred (Laura) Durand, Rhinelander.  Preceding him in death, other than his wife, were a son, Kenneth, and a daughter, Mrs. Art (Thora) Turner.
