Sommers, George #2 (1902 - 19 APR 1960)
George Sommers, 58, was found dead Tuesday forenoon near a trestle bridge on the Soo Line right-of-way in the city of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.).
The trainmen were switching eight box cars of feed to Trindal’s mill in Loyal and they passed over the bridege and saw the dead man’s body on the slope beneath the span.
County Sheriff Frank Dobes and Coroner Bob Lulloff were called in to investigate and said the man was a suicide victim.
He had been an employee of the Trindal Co. for more than 19 years but two weeks ago quit his job. He was a diabetic and may have been despondent over his health.
He used a pearl handled .22 revolver which he fired into his head.
He is survived by his wife.
