Jensen, Peter (27 AUG 1883 - 1 MAY 1960)
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon for Peter Christ Jensen of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) who passed away Monday, May 1, 1960, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Wausau. At the time of his death he reached the age of 76 years, 8 months and 4 days.
The Rev. Beryl Knudsen conducted the services at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home and interment was made at the Riverside Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Einer Petersen, Floyd Bowen, Harry Carstenson, Oliver Williams, James Smick and Norman Sommerfeldt. Phyllis Bowen and Beverly Orth were inn charge of the floral offerings.
Miss Bunee Kraut and Mrs. Jean Vandeberg rendered vocal selections, while Mrs. June Morschek accompanied them on the organ.
Mr. Jensen was born Aug. 27, 1883 in Denmark to Christine Andysen and Jens Nielsen. In the year of 1899 he came to the United States, settling in Nebraska where he was a cattle rancher. He exchanged wedding vows with the former Fidelia Turner on April 1, 1941, at Delta, Colo. In 1951 they moved their household effects to the Granton area and remained there until 1957 when Mr. and Mrs. Jensen purchased the Fremont Hotel in Owen.
Surviving him are his wife, one son, Franklin of Owen, and one daughter, Christine Ann, also of Owen, one sister, Mrs. Marie Pinehard of Green Bay. Preceding him in death are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jens Nielsen.
