THE QUARTERLY MEETING of the M. E. Church, held here last Saturday and Sabbath was an occasion of more than ordinary interest.  There was quite a delegation present from other parts of the circuit, bringing a spirit of earnestness and zeal with them that added much to the interest of the various exercises.  Rev. C. Barker, of Unity, preached Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday morning.  He is a vivacious, wide-awake speaker, full of enthusiasm in his work and gave good satisfaction to his bearers, the most of whom remember his cogent thrusts at the enemies of temperance last spring.  Rev. E. M. Fullmer preached a very able and entertaining sermon Sunday evening, which closed the exercises of the quarterly meeting.
