Leffel, Clara #2 (13 JUL 1888 - 19 MAY 1960)

 

Funeral services were held in Immanuel Lutheran Church in March Rapids Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock for Mrs. William Leffel, 71, town of Frankfort, who died at her home at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, after a lingering illness.  The Rev. Alfred O. Pautsch officiated and burial was made in the Colby Cemetery.

 

The former Clara Johnson was born July 13, 1888 in Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.).  She lived in the Longwood area most of her childhood and when a young woman moved to March Rapids.  She was married to William Leffel on Dec. 25, 1907, in March Rapids.  After their marriage they lived in Green Grove, Clark County for two years and then moved to the town of Hull where they remained for a short time.  They have lived in Frankfort for 45 years.

 

Mrs. Leffel is survived by her husband; two sons, Delmare and Bernard, both of Frankfort; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Bernice) Miller, Colby, and Mrs. Laverne (Viola) Treankler, Frankfort.

 

Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. Bert Zastrow, Colby; five brothers, Oscar and Harry Johnson, California; George, Mosinee, and Walter, Cornell; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
