Spencer, Joseph R. #4 (11 JUN 1896 - 11 JUN 1960)
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Assembly of God Church at Abbotsford for Joseph R. Spencer, 64, who died Saturday afternoon in the Veteran’s Hospital at Wood where he had been a patient for the past seven weeks. The services were conducted by Mrs. Elmer Jensen and interment was made in the Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery at Curtiss. The services were in charge of the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home of Owen.
Joseph Spencer was born June 11, 1896, in Bear Creek. He served with the Navy in World War I and was a member of the American Legion in Abbotsford. He was married to Marie Borgemoen on May 19, 1920, in Chicago. After their marriage, they lived in Chicago, Ill. for two years, moving to Milwaukee where they resided for several years, and then to Abbotsford for 20 years before going to Unity six years ago. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are his wife, one son, Robert of Medford, and two grandchildren.
