Harlan Raeck, 38, route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), drowned in Stone Lake in western Oneida County Friday night when a boat overturned as he was trying to attach an outboard motor.
Raeck and his 12-year-old son, Arthur, who was rowing the boat away from shore toward deeper water, were tossed from the craft as it capsized. The youth was able to swim to shore. He said his father came to the surface once, and then disappeared. Raeck’s body was recovered early Saturday.
