Spencer Local News

 

Mrs. Geo Hayward did shopping at Marshfield Saturday.

Harry Bodle came home Sunday from a visit at Rib Lake and Medford. Walker Hayward and Bert Andrews spent a few days in Chicago last week.

 

Mrs. Andrew Aitken of Rib Lake, called on Spencer friends Thursday and Friday.

 

Miss Hattie Richardson of Loyal, came over Friday called by the sickness of Mrs. Tyler.

 

Mrs. Bernard Hoey returned from Rib Lake Friday where she spent a month with her husband.

 

Mrs. M. J. Andrews went to Plymouth Wednesday and later to Cascade to visit her mother, Mrs. M. Clark.

 

Mrs. E. Heath, returned home Friday from North Dakota where she has been spending a few months with her husband a railroad man on the Soo.

 

Mrs. August Kennedy and son Willard of Coeur d 'Alene, Idaho, visited over Sunday with Spencer friends. They are on their way borne from a visit in New York and Canada.

 

The Modern Woodmen and Royal Neighbors gave a banquet at the G. A. R. hall Saturday evening in honor of Mrs. and Mrs. Blaisdeil going to Tennessee to spend the winter.

 

The furnace in the M. E. church is completed and is a great improvement. The work that has been done on the church the past year is a credit to the pastor, Rev. C. M. Christiansen, and should receive due recompense from its people.

 

A number of Miss Hayward's friends gave her a miscellaneous shower at her home Saturday evening. She received many pretty and useful gifts. A dainty lunch was served after which the guests departed having spent a very pleasant two hours.
