Hewett (19 Mar 1914)

P.G. McKinney came up Saturday evening to speak to the people politically, but as no one opened or lighted the school house, the meeting was not held.  Several forgot about the date, while a few others gathered at different places waiting for the lights to show up.

David Wood, Sr., has cut three new teeth at the age of 66.

Mrs. J.A. Wood is still quite sick at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lon Cook.

Bennie Hart and Jake Bruny were home from Alma Center over Saturday.

Jake Laager bought a horse off Pat Kelly last week.

Mrs. Mary Goldammer expects her husband from northern Minnesota the first of this week.  They will soon leave for their home in Canada.

Miss Tena Schmalley closed school Friday for a month’s vacation.

Mr. Hemp is drilling a well for the cheese factory.

Mrs. Frank Ayers of Neillsville spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. M.M. Cook.

Mrs. M.M. Cook is having a serious time with a sore mouth.
