Klessig, Ely R. (April 8, 1933 - April 22, 2011)
Ely R. Klessig, age 78, of Boyceville, formerly of Colby, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 at his home.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011, at
the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Rev. Steve
Svendsen will officiate. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m.
until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow
at Colby Memorial Cemetery in Colby.
Ely was born April 8, 1933, to Ray Klessig and Emma (Buss) Haemer
in Owen.
He graduated from Owen High School in 1951. Ely went on to serve his country in the Army.
While in the Army, Ely was joined in
marriage to the love of his life, Jean Alexander, on June 19, 1954,
in Unity. Ely worked at the Clark County Health Care Center from
1974 until 1994.
Ely enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, playing cards, and
most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is lovingly survived by his children, Darrel (Heidi) Klessig of
Menomonie, and Darla (Paul) Jagoditsh of Tucson, Ariz.; his
grandchildren, Natalya and Joshua Klessig, and Mark and David
Jagoditsh.
Ely is further survived by his sisters, Susan Koffarnus of Curtiss, and Pearl (Bobby) Lullof of Curtiss; and his brother, Carl (Judy) Haemer of Curtiss.
Ely is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Jean.
