Mikolainis, Jolanta D. (3 SEP 1960)

The Rev. Francis Disher of St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church officiated at the double ring ceremony and nuptial Mass which united Miss Jolanta Dorothy Mikolainis and Kenneth B. Bicke in marriage Saturday, Sept. 3, 1960.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Micke of Gilman, and Mr. and Mrs. Kase Mikolainis of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.).

White gladioli bouquets decorated the church altar.  The school children’s choir sang the Mass and "On This Day O Beautiful Mother," while the bride placed a bouquet at the Blessed Virgin altar.

Miss Mikolainis, given in marriage by her father, wore a chapel length gown of silk organza over tissue silk.  It was fashioned with a fitted bodice and long tapered sleeves.  Appliques of miniature roses of silk organza outlined the scoop neckline and accented the bouffant skirt.  A scalloped crown of iridescents and pearls held her imported silk illusion veil and she carried an arrangement of pink roses, stephanotis and ivy.

Maid of honor in the wedding party was Miss Phyllis Ann Micke of Madison, the groom’s sister. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Darlene Mikolainis of Evanston, Ill., Miss Sharon Micke of Gilman, the groom’s sister, and Miss LuAnn Gulcynski, Thorp.

They wore pink full length dresses of silk organza over taffeta fashioned with empire bodices, bow trimming and simi-scoop neckline.  Pearl trimmed halo hats in matching color and bouquets of pink and white daisies complemented their dresses.

Donald Mikolainis of Evanston, Ill., brother of the bride, was best man, with groomsmen, Bernard Stuttgen, Colby, cousin of the groom, and his brother, Neil Micke, Gilman.

Marilyn Gulcynski and Randy Stuttgen were miniature bride and ring bearer.  Ushers were James Skrzenta of Chicago, Ill., and Jerry Stuttgen, Stanley.

Following the church services a dinner was served to immediate friends and relatives in St. Hedwig’s Hall.  Supper was served there at 5:00 o’clock to about 400 guests.

After a wedding trip to Canada the couple will reside on a farm near Gilman.

The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School and has been employed at Employers Mutual, Wausau.  The groom is a graduate of Gilman High School and was an agricultural student at the University of Wisconsin for two year.
