Richardson, Amanda [Tyler] (14 Mar 1840 - 29 Jul 1913)
SPENCER, WISCONSIN LOCAL NEWS.
Miss Amanda Tyler was born at Quebeck (sic), March 14, 1840. When
fifteen years old she came with her parents to Wis., settling near
Kilbourn. In 1861 she was married to Chancey K. Richardson. Their
honeymoon was cut short because Mr. Richardson enlisted and went to
war. In 1875 they came to Spencer where they have since resided.
She died Tuesday, July 29. Mr. Richardson having passed away twelve
years ago. Soon after coming to Spencer she opened a millinery
store which she conducted up to the present time, being assisted by
her daughter. Her son, Victor, died about 9 years ago. She leaves
one daughter, Verna, and adopted girl, Muriel, a brother, Amos
Tyler, and numerous nephews and nieces besides a host of friends.
Being a woman in business and of a kindly affectionate nature
everyone she met became a friend and no one appreciated friends
more than she. To say she will be missed by the entire community is
a mild statement. Her friendship and kindly ways will be remembered
as long as any are left who knew her. The sympathy and love of
neighbors and friends are extended to the bereft ones.
