SPENCER, WISCONSIN LOCAL NEWS

Miss Amanda Tyler was born at Quebeck (sic), March 14, 1840. When fifteen years old she came with her parents to Wis., settling near Kilbourn. In 1861 she was married to Chancey K. Richardson. Their honeymoon was cut short because Mr. Richardson enlisted and went to war. In 1875 they came to Spencer where they have since resided. She died Tuesday, July 29. Mr. Richardson having passed away twelve years ago. Soon after coming to Spencer she opened a millinery store which she conducted up to the present time, being assisted by her daughter. Her son, Victor, died about 9 years ago. She leaves one daughter, Verna, and adopted girl, Muriel, a brother, Amos Tyler, and numerous nephews and nieces besides a host of friends. Being a woman in business and of a kindly affectionate nature everyone she met became a friend and no one appreciated friends more than she. To say she will be missed by the entire community is a mild statement. Her friendship and kindly ways will be remembered as long as any are left who knew her. The sympathy and love of neighbors and friends are extended to the bereft ones.

Miss Verna Richardson is offering the entire stock of millinery and other goods as well as the store building for sale. Here is a good chance for a milliner as the village would be without a store here.

A. F. Tyler and wife and the Misses Verna and Muriel Richardson spent Sunday at Loyal with Mrs. Hattie Richardson

Mrs. E. E. Gustin of Lincoln, Neb.m came Thursday to visit her mother, Mrs. M. Plomer and sister, Mrs. H. C. Andrews.
