Elmhorst, Marian M. (26 OCT 1918 - 22 MAY 2011)
Marian M. Elmhorst, 92, of Marshfield, passed away at Golden Living
Center-Three Oaks on Sunday, May 22, 2011, surrounded by her family
and under the tender care of hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, at
Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield. The Rev. Mark Krueger
will officiate. Burial will be held in Brooklawn Memorial Garden,
town of Richfield. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Wednesday, May 25, and from 10 a.m. until time of services
Thursday, all at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 26, 1918, the daughter of Grant and Nora (Murphy)
Johnson in Clark County. Marian was united in marriage to Carl
Elmhorst on Oct. 8, 1938, in Neillsville. Together they celebrated
42 years of marriage until his death Aug. 17, 1981.
She liked to play bingo, was an avid gardener, a tremendous cook
and very artistic, especially crafts. Marian was also hard-working,
loving and generous to everyone. First and foremost was her family,
whom she loved dearly.
Marian is survived by three children, Wanda (Carl) Magee, Poquoson,
Va., Gary (Kristine) Elmhorst and Darrel (Laurie) Elmhorst, both of
Marshfield; four grandchildren, Dr. Kelly Elmhorst-Lanning,
Chesapeake, Va., Holly (Josh) Koeppel, St. Charles, Minn., Megan
(Patrick) Johnson, Stratford, and Joshua Elmhorst, Marshfield;
three great-grandchildren, Brady, Brenna and Bryndon Koeppel. She
is further survived by many nieces and nephews, including a very
loving niece, Carolyn (Ron) Jones, Pittsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Nora; her
husband, Carl; a brother, Bill Johnson; and a sister, Elaine
Anderegg.
A Marian M. Elmhorst Memorial Fund has been established.
