Mroz, Chester J. (16 JUL 1928 - 17 MAY 2011)
OWEN -- Chester J. Mroz, 82, of Owen, passed away Tuesday, May 17,
2011, at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May
21, 2011, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. Father Daniel
Hackel will officiate. A visitation will be held Saturday from 9
a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in
St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery, Thorp.
Chester was born July 16, 1928, to Ramie (Zuzelski) and Felix Mroz
in Thorp. He attended school at Blueberry Grade School in Thorp.
Chester went on to serve his country in the Army during the Korean
War. After the service, Chester was joined in marriage to Margaret
Strzok on May 11, 1953, at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in
Thorp.
Chester was a mechanic in the Owen-Withee area throughout his life.
He was a very loving father of Dan and Dale, and husband of
Margaret. They enjoyed many years together enjoying life, going to
polkas and concertina music.
Chester loved fishing, gardening, gambling and working on cars. He
was a jack of all trades. He loved people and helping them out.
Chester is lovingly survived by his wife, Margaret; his sons,
Daniel (Claire) Mroz of Hewitt and Dale (Beth) Mroz of Spencer; his
grandchildren, Michael (Christina) Mroz of Kellogg, Minn., and
Clinton (Amber) Oelhofen of Wausau; and his great-grandchildren,
Hannah, Caleb, Elsa and Elliannia Mroz and Alexander Oelhofen.
Chester is further survived by his brother and sisters, Clarence
(Alice) Mroz, Agnes (Al) Bogacz, Rosie Zuber, Mary Bertram, Theresa
(Ralph) Javore and Alice (Eddy) Bishop.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents and his brother,
Johnny Mroz.
