George Jenswold of the U.S. Army Ski Troops from Globe Camp, was home for the weekend. He is getting along fine on his skis. He is promoted to one of the instructors at the camp.
Ike Mathews and family have moved into the Rieder house, vacated by Chester Stanley and family.
Frank Zimmerman and crew took down the old barn at the rear of the Washburn store building, which he purchased, along with the shed that was moved last summer. The lumber will be used for buildings on Mr. Zimmerman’s farm.
Members of the Masonic order from Humbird, Merrillan and B.R. Falls gathered at the temple in the Falls last Thrusday evening to celebrate Washington’s birthday. A very instructive and interesting address on Washington and his affiliation with the Masonic order was given by Atty. O.C. Eggun of Whitehall. Others taking part in the program were Dr. Schwarz, Gibson Gile, W.E. Waters, E.T. Hale. Musical numbers were rendered by a male quartet.
Robert (Doc) Zimmerman, whose home is west of Fairchild, is a patient at the Krohn Hospital, and his condition is reported quite serious. He is the oldest brothers of Mrs. Martha Terrell and Frank Zimmerman.
Mr. and Mrs. John Michael attended the funeral of Mrs. Anderson at Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) Monday afternoon. Mrs. Anderson was the mother of their son-in-law, Vern Anderson of Eau Claire. She was about 80 years of age and had been an invalid for several years.
