Pierce, Mrs. Edwin (1879? - 29 APR 1941)
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Pierce, two well-known Merrillan people, were found dead at their home in that village by near neighbors about 10 o’clock Tuesday forenoon. Mr. Piece who was 82 years of age, had been an invalid for some time and his death was not unexpected. Mrs. Pierce was in her 61st years. An investigation was conducted by the Jackson County Coroner, Dr. Petzke of Hixton. It is presumed that Mrs. Pierce was worn out in caring for her husband, and that the shock of his death in the morning hours had induced a heart attack that proved fatal. Several children survive. Both Mr. and Mrs. Pierce, who were longtime residents of Merrillan, were known here and leave many friends who regret their deaths.
