Braatz, Victor August (8 February 1914 - 20 April 2011)
Victor Braatz, 97, of Neillsville died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at his home. Victor August Braatz was born Feb. 8, 1914, in the Town of Grant, Clark County, the son of Herman and Nellie (Ruege) Braatz. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. After his education, he farmed in Clark County, near Granton, for several years.
He was united in marriage to Helen Lucht May 18, 1938. Along with farming, Victor also worked construction until 1956, when he quit so he could work for the Town of Grant. He worked for the Town of Grant until 1977 when he retired and moved to Weyerhauser. Helen died in 1982 and in October 1982 Victor married Doris Eisentraut.
Victor was a member of the Zion American Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton, serving on is board for many years. He also served on the board for the Town of Grant and the Granton School. He was a member of the Golden Gloves Boxing Club and enjoyed motorcycle racing.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; three children, Yvonne (Charles) Hoagland Dunaway and their daughters, Kim and Kay of Old Town, FL, a son, Victor (Ellen) Braatz Jr. and their daughter, Stephanie of Engle Bach, Germany, and Linda (Gary) Holtz and their children, Matthew and Sarah, and a great-grandson, Jordan of Kenosha; foster sons, Greg Mallory and Chris Mallory; a foster daughter, Sarah Andrews; brother, Donald (Irene) Braatz of Eau Claire; stepsons, Arnie (Bonnie) Eisentraut of Apache Junction, AZ, in the winter and Neillsville in the summer, and David (Pat) Eisentraut of Neillsville; and a step-daughter-in-law, Mary Eisentraut of Sterling, IL.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen; his parents, Herman and Nellie Braatz; twin brothers in infancy; a brother Erwin Braatz; a sister, Esther Silbernagel; and a stepson, Jim Eisentraut.
A memorial service for Victor will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at the Zion American Evangelical Church in Granton. Pastor Keith Lueneburg will officiate. Burial will be in Zion American Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorial services for Victor A. Braatz will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday May 21, 2011, at the Zion American Lutheran Church, W2846 Hill Rd, one mile south and a half-mile east of Granton.
