Ziemendorf, Lloyd E. (2 April 1924 - 20 April 2011) With Flag

Lloyd E. Ziemendorf, 87, of Pittsville, died April 20, 2011, in Marshfield.

He is survived by his wife, Frances (Barrett) Ziemendorf of Pittsville; two sons, Robert Ziemendorf of Neillsville and Steven (Linda) Ziemendorf of Pittsville; one daughter, Wendy (Mark) Behselich of Pittsville; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.  

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 7, at City Point Community Church, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will be in the Sherwood Cemetery.

Buchanan Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lloyd E. Ziemendorf, 87, of Pittsville died April 20, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

He was born April 2, 1924, at Baraboo to Dewey and Gladys (McConnell) Ziemendorf.  He attended Baraboo and La Valle grade schools and Pittsville High School.  He served in the U. S. Navy in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1946 aboard the U. S. S. Ard 12.  Lloyd was united in marriage to Frances Barrett April 4, 1957, in Rockford, IL.  He worked as a machinist at Camcar in Rockford and construction for J. L. Sullivan and Trieweiler.  He owned and operated the Sherwood Store and Bar from 1958 to 1973.

Lloyd moved to Pittsville in February 2011.  He was a member of City Point Community Church, Teamsters Union and the Tuesday Night Seniors at Bev’s Saddle Mound Tap.

He is survived by his wife, Frances, of Pittsville; children: Wendy (Mark) Behselich of Pittsville, Robert Ziemendorf of Neillsville and Steven (Linda) Ziemendorf of Pittsville; five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at City Point Community Church with Pastor Fred Parker Jr. officiating.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service.  Burial will be in the Sherwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be designated to Palliative Care, St. Joseph’s Hospital, or City Point Community Church.
