Alexander J. "Alex" Kozikowski, age 84, of King, WI, formerly of Thorp, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.
Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Alexander J. "Alex" Kozikowski, age 84, of King, WI, formerly of Thorp, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Fr. John Mano officiated and burial of cremains followed in New St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held at the church, on Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Alexander Joseph Kozikowski was born on May 6, 1927 in Lublin, WI, the son of Michael and Veronica (Swistak) Kozikowski. His family moved to a farm northeast of Thorp, where Alex was raised and received his education. He was inducted into the U. S. Army Air Corp on July 28, 1945 and served until December 20, 1946. After his honorable discharge Alex returned to Thorp and worked as a plumber and installing furnaces. He later went on his own and started his own business installing furnaces. After retiring, Alex enjoyed fishing and boating. He lived in Owen for a few years before entering the Wisconsin Veterans Home, in King, in 2005.
He was a member of the Thorp American Legion Post #118.
He is survived by: one sister, Nellie Kozikowski of Thorp; 13 nieces and nephews; 31 great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Alex was preceded in death by: his parents; seven brothers: Steve, Walter, Peter, Paul, Frank, John and Edward; and two sisters: Julia Kozikowski and Josephine Spiewak.
