Bobb, Marjorie (21 JUL 1941)
Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire was the scene of a quiet, but happy wedding at 4:30 o’clock Monday afternoon, when the pastor, the Rev. Constantine Nestrande, united in holy wedlock with the impressive marriage ceremony of the church, Mr. Arthur Laffe and Miss Marjorie Bobb, two estimable young people of this village. The bride and groom were attended by Miss Hilda Laffe, a sister of the groom, and Mr. Lendol Nibbe.
The bride was prettily gowned in hyacinth blue with white accessories, and wore a shoulder corsage of pink roses and white gladioli, and a white carnation in her hair. He bridesmaid wore a misty rose dress and her flowers were bronze roses and baby breath. The groom and his attendant each wore blue suits and a white carnation in their lapels.
Following the ceremony, a dainty wedding supper was served at the home of the bride’s brother, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Bobb, in Eau Claire. In the evening the wedding party returned to this village (Humbird, Clark Co., Wis.) and entertained their relatives and many friends at a dancing party at the town hall. Those coming from away to attend the party were Mr. and Mrs. Marion Bobb and daughter, Miss Fanette Gleason, Eau Claire, and Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Bobb, and Mr. and Mrs. Edw. Austreng, Menomonie. The newlyweds left for a short trip to northern Wisconsin.
The bride of this happy event is a graduate of Black River Falls High School and Eau Claire State Teachers College, and taught the past year at Sunnyside School, and expects to continue in the teaching profession. She is a daughter of Mrs. T. A. McCready.
The groom is the younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis G. Laffe; he is a graduate of Humbird High School and is employed in the Red & White Store. He and his bride will start housekeeping at once in the residence apartment above the store.
