Lowery, Estelle (1851? - FEB 1942)
Mrs. Henry Rundle has received a letter from Mrs. Phyllis Charest of Visalia, Calif., telling of the death of Mrs. Estelle Lowery, at the age of 92. Mrs. Lowery, whose maiden name was Emily Estelle Maxon, was among the earliest settlers in Houghtonburg (Jackson Co., Wis.), and one of the enclosures in the letter from Mrs. Charest to Mrs. Rundle was a history of the early days and settlers in Houghtonburg, written in 1938 by Mrs. Lowery, who was active and retained her faculties to the end. She lived with her niece, Mrs. Charest. One sister, Mrs. mat Carder, survives.
