Westberg, Clara (9 MAY 1917 - 26 MAY 2011)
Clara Westberg, 94, formerly of Colby, passed away Thursday, May
26, 2011, at Golden Living Center-Three Oaks in Marshfield under
the tender care of hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity. The Rev. Al Houts will officiate.
Burial will be held in the church cemetery. A time of visitation
will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the
church. Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer is serving the
family.
Clara was born May 9, 1917, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Krumm)
Ladwig in Sarona, Wis. She started her education in Thorp and
graduated from Colby High School in 1935. Clara then attended
Teachers College in Stevens Point and graduated in 1937. She taught
rural school for four years. Clara was united in marriage to
Orville Westberg on Dec. 29, 1941, in Yuma, Ariz. He preceded her
in death Nov. 6, 2007.
Clara and Orville farmed most of their lives in rural Colby, with
Clara working several places, retiring from Land O' Lakes in
Spencer. After retiring to Florida for 15 years, they moved back to
Spencer.
She enjoyed reading, playing cards and doing latch hook. Clara was
a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity.
Clara is survived by four sons, Eldon (Kay), Phillips, Larry
(Carol), Milton, Randy (Dana), Green Bay, and Rick (Myra), Unity;
11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Emma, her
husband, Orville, two sisters, Luella Krauter and Lila Anderson,
and a brother, Edward Ladwig.
