Marlyn J. "Marlie" Baughman, 71, Colorado Springs, Colo., passed away peacefully, surrounded by close family and friends on Monday, May 3, 2011. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 21, at Sunnyside Christian Church, Colorado Springs.
Marlyn Jean Dyre was born on Sept. 5, 1939, in Greenwood, to Leora and Kenneth Dyre Sr. She was a banker in Greenwood, married Dick Baughman, and soon after moved to the Midwest and settled in Colorado Springs in 1970. She was a member of the Sunnyside Christian Church. Her courage, Faith in God and church, warmth and acceptance of others touched many hearts. She always projected a smile in spite of the pain she endured all of her adult life.
Survivors include her husband, Dick, of 51 years; one son, Val (Brenda) Baughman, Colorado Springs; one sister, Devonne (Leland) Nelson, Ripon; one brother, Kenneth Jr. (Cindy) Dyre, Greenwood; a brother-in-law, John (Loretta) Baughman, Washington; a sister-in-law, Alive (John Haag, Oconto; and nieces and nephews.
