Hohl, Lucille E. (9 April 1916 - 11 May 2011)
Lucille E. Hohl, 95, of Neillsville passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Lucille was born in the Town of Reseburg, near Thorp, April 9, 1916, to Achille and Jeanne (Morlet) Ampe formerly of Paris, France. She graduated from Loyal High School in 1936. She attended Teachers College in Neillsville and taught in rural Loyal and Riplinger for a number of years. Lucille married Donald G. Lydiksen Nov. 1, 1941. She continued to teach until she joined Donald in Yacama, (Yakima), WA, while he was in the service. They returned to Riplinger where they farmed until Donald’s death in 1954.
Lucille married Jacob Walter Hohl June 23, 1956, and moved to Greenwood and raised her family.
She moved to the city of Neillsville in 2000 and lived on her own with her daughter Lynette until her death.
Her love of teaching would often elicit stories of her days as a country school teacher. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses she enjoyed teaching and helping others learn about God.
She also enjoyed spending time in her garden, her flowers and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her four children, Kenneth (Mary) Lydiksen of Camarillo, CA, Lynette Lydiksen of Neillsville, Paulette Lydiksen of Owen, and Sheila Noah of Neillsville; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law; along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Martha Wehe, Ruth Gotter, Dottie Larson, Helen Ewert, Alice Reinertson, Pauline Haupt, Judith Ampe; and brothers, Morris, Paul and Gilbert Ampe.
A memorial service was held Sunday, May 22, 2011, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Neillsville.
