Zickert, Frank L. (26 December 1943 - 17 May 2011)
Frank L. Zickert, 67, of Arpin died Tuesday evening, May 17, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, surrounded by his family.
Frank was born Dec. 26, 1943, in Neillsville, to Franklin and Bernice (Boon) Zickert. He was a graduate of Neillsville High School.
He was married to Joan Schultz and later divorced.
Frank was united in marriage to Cynthia L. Stecker, April 1, 1988, in Las Vegas, NV.
He was employed at Weyerhaeuser Inc. as a supervisor in the door-skin department until that department was closed. He then worked in Klamath Falls, OR, as a consultant, helping with the setup of their door-skin machines. Later Frank was instrumental in the Blue Water Fibre Plant start up in Ontario, Canada. Following completion of that project, he returned to Marshfield and accepted a position with Wick Building Systems, where he worked until his retirement. In retirement he continued working at Power Pac, Inc.
Frank was an avid hunter. He also looked forward to the annual Muskie Tournament in Three Lakes with his brother. Frank was also very active in several ATV and snow mobile clubs, here and in Three Lakes. He also participated in pool and dart leagues. Frank is lovingly survived by his wife, Cynthia Zickert, Arpin; his mother, Bernice Zickert-Kalsow, Neillsville; children Gregory A. (Doreen) Zickert, Neillsville and Dawn (Brent) Elwood, Amery; a stepson, Mike Stecker; grandchildren Malory Zickert, Tayler and Katherine Elwood; a brother, Dennis Zickert, Lyndon, IL; sisters, Linda L. (Steve) Scharenbrock, Willard, and Cindy K. Zickert, Bonduel.
He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin, and brothers, Terry and Rick.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 20, at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield, with visitation held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. Pastor Timothy Biebert officiated. Interment of ashes will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery at a later date.
