Sherwood (5 April 1962)

Mr. and Mrs. Francis Jacobson drove to the Roy Chase home Sunday and joined Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Vandeberg and daughters of Marshfield and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Karlen of Monticello for a visit.  Although April fool’s day came on Sunday the Karlens and Vandebergs were fooled one day earlier.  They both decided to go visiting.

The Vandebergs started for Monticello a little after noon on Saturday.  The Karlens decided to come to the Vandeberg home.  It is believed they met near Klondike corners just out of Marshfield.  The police tried to stop the Vandebergs at Wisconsin Rapids, but they had decided to take a new route and took 80 through Pittsville. The Vandebergs were told at Monticello that the Karlens were up here so they came back in time to join the group at the Chase home. Roy Lawrence had accompanied the Vandebergs.

The group drove to Owen Sunday afternoon to visit Harmon Huntley, who is a patient at a rest home there.

Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Fields called on Dewey Ziemendorf recently.
