R.J. Zerbel, who has been quite ill at the home of his mother for several weeks, is now reported nicely on the gain.
Mrs. Min Cole, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Bollom and their daughter and son of Neillsville, to Greenwood last Sunday for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Silas Delano at the nursing home.
Miss Hilda Laffe came home from Madison last week for a few days of vacation.
J.A. Musil and son came over from Neillsville on a business trip last Saturday.
Roger Zerbel has enrolled for a job with the Volck Construction Co. of Rice Lake, for work on their contract on the Alaskan Highway. He will be either with the telephone and transmission line construction crew, or slinging hash in the kitchen. Roger is an expert chef, and it will probably be the latter. The crew will leave Rice Lake as soon as it is filled. He expects to be gone about six months.
