Marth, Bertha (8 November 1881 - 13 April 1962)

A requiem high mass was read Monday morning in St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Mrs. Joe Marth, 80, Rt. 2, Neillsville, who died April 13, at her home in the Town of Pine Valley.  The Rev. Fr. Bernard T. Kelly officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Marth, the former Bertha Lorenz, daughter of the late Michael and Anna Lorenz, was born November 8, 1881, in Neillsville.   She received her education here and worked here before her marriage to Joseph Marth on November 26, 1914.  They lived on a farm in the Town of Pine Valley for many years.  Mr. Marth died in 1961.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and of St. Anthony’s Circle of the Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW).

Surviving Mrs. Marth is one daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Ruby) Schultz, Neillsville, and four grandchildren.

The Parish Council of Catholic Women’s rosary was said Sunday afternoon, and a general rosary was said Sunday evening at the Bergemann Funeral Home, which was in charge of the arrangements.
