Hein, Neil F. (Promoted - MAR 1941)
(From the Rocky Mountain (Denver, Colo.) of March 6th, 1943, the following is taken:
"Neil F. Hein of 410 Garfield St. has been promoted to lieutenant colonel in the tank destroyer force. Colonel Hein, who has been promoted three times since being called to active duty in 1941, is a pioneer in the tank destroyer outfit which was organized and trained at Camp Hood, Texas. He is executive officer at Camp Young, Calif."
Col. Hein was formerly employed at Hendric & Bolthoff Manufacturing Co. of Denver. He is a graduate of the local high school of the class of 1926, a graduate of Ripon College, and holds a master’s degree from New York University. The News contained a fine half tone portrait of Col. Hein with the foregoing item.
