Smazal, Rosetta V. (Hamus) (February 16, 1935 - May 21, 2011)
Rosetta V. Smazal, 76, Spencer, died on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
Rosetta was born February 16, 1935,in Auburndale to Peter and Dora (Weinfurter) Hamus and attended Auburndale area schools.
She married Charles Smazal, Jr. on April 30, 1953, in Vesper. Charles died on September 9, 1962.
Rosetta and Charles farmed in the Spencer area, and after her husband’s death, Rosetta continued to farm with her daughters.
She enjoyed polka music, gardening and flowers, especially African violets and watching and feeding the birds.
Rosetta is survived by four children, Elaine Smazal, Phyllis Smazal, Dennis Smazal and Philip Smazal, all of Spencer. She is also survived by one grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Raymond and Roger Hamus; and a sister in infancy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at
Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Rev. James Logan officiating.
Burial will take place in West Spencer Cemetery.
The visitation will be held on Thursday from 12:30 pm until service time at Rembs Funeral Home.
