In the spring of 1915 he was united in marriage to Miss Grace Baker of Racine.  The young couple went to Montana immediately after their marriage, where he was rural mail carrier for one year.

In the early part of 1916, he and Mrs. Barr returned to Racine, where Mr. Barr became employed by the Cape’s Construction Co., where he was working when he met his death on Tuesday, May 4, 1943, when struck by a passing automobile.

He leaves to mourn his death, his widow; six brothers, William of Fairview, Mont., Roy of Jim Falls, Claude of South Rygates, Vt., Clyde of Fairview, Mont., Fred of Humbird, and Worthing of Colby; six sisters: Mrs. Nettie Primmer, Mead, Wash., Mrs. Zylphia West, Sechlerville, Mrs. Lelah Gregory, Hastings, Minn., Mrs. Cora Gunderson, Racine, Mrs. Leota Thompson, Milwaukee, Mrs. Iola Housley, Davenport, Iowa; besides a number of nieces and nephews.

His parents, two brothers, Everett and Archie, and two sisters, Olive and Myrtle, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at Racine Thursday, May 6th, and burial was in a cemetery in that city.  Mrs. Fred Barr went to Racine to attend the burial rites.
