Biddle, Leland M. "Lee" (6 August 1927 - 18 May 2011) With Flag

Leland M. "Lee" Biddle, 83, of 5690 167th St. Chippewa Falls, Town of Lafayette, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.

He was born August 6, 1927, in Thorp, the son of Charles and Lena (Hendricks) Biddle.  He attended Thorp High School.  He then served in the U. S. Army during WWII in Germany as a Military Policeman.

Lee married Marvel Rhyner and they resided in Thorp.  They had three children. They were later divorced.

He was employed at Blue Moon Cheese Factory and he owned Lee’s North-Star Station in Thorp, L. B. Auto Parts in Stanley and was then employed at the Northern Center for 21 years until he retired.

Lee married Nila Brovold-Walters in 1991 in Chippewa Falls.

Survivors include: his wife, Nila; two daughters: Penny (Chris Oelberg) Nusbaum of thorp, Candy (Jeff) Meeker of Thorp; one son, Terry (Linda) Biddle of Eau Claire; one step-daughter, Dawn (Michael) Bye of Chippewa Falls; two step-sons, Robert (Ruth) Walters of Cable, and David Walters of California; one sister, Grace (Al) Welzein of Loyal; one brother, Louis (Georgia) Biddle of Chippewa Falls; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Arlene Brovold of Chippewa Falls; his life long best friend, Charles "Chuck" Fischer of Cadott; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Shanda Nusbaum; and father-in-law, James Brovold.

Lee was the happiest when he was outside working on his "40" and sharing the outdoors with his grandchildren.  He was an artist/sign painter, woodworker, and all around handyman.  His sense of humor and one-liners will always stay with each of us.  He will be truly missed by everyone.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Deacon Dan Rider officiating.  Military honors were conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.
