Urlaub, Lorraine Elizabeth (31 December 1921 - 28 May 2011)
Lorraine Urlaub, 89, of Neillsville died Saturday, May 28, 2011, at the Neillsville Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.
Lorraine Elizabeth Urlaub was born Dec. 31, 1921, in Superior, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Cicha) Urlaub. When she was nine years old they moved to Neillsville to farm. She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1939 and then moved to Chicago, IL, for a year to be a mother’s helper. When she moved back to Neillsville she worked for many years as a nursing assistant at the Memorial Hospital.
Lorraine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the PCCW St. Anthony’s Circle in Neillsville. She enjoyed baking cookies, watching birds and animals and tending to her flowers.
She is survived by one nephew and four nieces, Billie jean (Bob) Gannon of San Bernardino, CA, Darlene (Jim) Kincaid of Riverside, CA, Judith (Pat) McCarty of Easton, CT, Joseph Urlaub of San Diego, CA, and Elizabeth (Al) Kaplan of San Diego, CA. Lorraine is also survived by eight great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Lorraine will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. The celebrant will be Fr. Varkey Velickakathu. Providing music will be Ronald Resong, organist, and St. Mary’s Choir. Burial will be made in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. prior to the service at the Church.
