Compton, Margarite M. (6 AUG 1943)
Pfc. Manley C. Walter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Walker, and Miss Margarite May Compton of Auburn, Calif., were united in marriage Friday, Aug. 6th, 1943, at the home of the bride’s mother.
The bride wore a white floor length gown with a fingertip veil, carrying a bouquet of carnations. The groom wore his o.d. uniform with blouse and sand brown felt. They were attended by a sister of the bride, as bridesmaid, and a soldier friend of the groom’s as best man.
A wedding supper was served for a group of friends that attended the wedding, and was followed by a happy evening party.
The bride is residing with her mother at Auburn, Calif., where she is employed. The groom of this memorable occasion is stationed at McClellan Field, Calif., where he has been in army training for the past ten months.
