Haugen, Helen (17 February 1895 - April 1962)

 

Funeral services were conducted from the Masonic Temple Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Arthur (Helen) Haugen, who died April (an ink blotch so it is between 10 and13).  The Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

The former Helen Wegner, daughter of the late Fred and Minnie (Eukar) Wegner, she was born February 17, 1895, in the Town of Pine Valley. She received her education in the schools of that town and for several years worked in the office of the late Dr. J. H. Brooks.

 

On July 2, 1924, she was married to Arthur Haugen in Winona, Minn.

 

She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Carmi Chapter, No. 60, Order of the Eastern Star and of the American Legion Auxiliary.

 

Mrs. Haugen is survived by her husband and a daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Shirley) Lezotte, Jr., of Neillsville.  Other survivors include three grandchildren and two brothers, Ben and Robert Wegner, both of Neillsville.

 

Pallbearers were: W. H. Allen, H. L. Brown, Albert Holt, William Ruchaber, Joe A. Ylvisaker and Joe Zimmerman.

 

Members of Carmi Chapter, No. 60, Order of Eastern Star, taking part in the services were: Ruth Dern, Richard Albrecht, Mrs. Adolph Unger, Mrs. Fred Palmer, Mrs. Warren Huddleston, Mrs. Don Lipscy, Mrs. Edward Tresemer, Mrs. Richard Albrecht, and Mrs. Jas. A. Musil, musician.

 

"Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "The Lord is My Shepherd" were sung by Wilfred B. Galstad, accompanied by Miss Kathleen Galstad.
