Thompson, Raymond (26 February 1904 - 11 May 1962)
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Abbotsford Village Hall for Raymond E. Thompson, 58, of Abbotsford, who died May 11, in a Marshfield hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on April 14 near Fond du Lac.
Mr. Thompson, the son of Gilbert and Bertha (Jacklin) Thompson, was born February 16, 1904, in St. Paul, Minn. He attended schools there and in West Allis, and came with his parents to Neillsville, where he graduated from high school.
On July 23, 1927, he was married to Laura Priebe in Milwaukee. They
lived there until 1946, when they moved to Abbotsford, where he had
since operated a
tavern.
During his residence in Abbotsford he was a director of the Sportsmen’s club, a member of the chamber of commerce and the fire department.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Harley, of Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Evonne) Miller of Macomb, Ill., and Mrs. Jay (Gloria) Viets of Thorp; and six grandchildren. Other survivors include a brother, Forest Thompson, and a sister, Mrs. Gerelda Larsen, both of Neillsville.
