Sweda, Irene Lucille (30 December 1930 - 26 April 2011)

 

Irene L. Sweda, age 80, of Lublin, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Holy Assumption Orthodox Church in Lublin. Rev. Ted Wojcik will officiate and inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church, on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until time of service.

 

Irene Lucille Egle was born on December 30, 1930, in Medford, WI, the daughter of Maurice and Latischa (Lange) Egle. She was raised and received her education in Medford.  Irene was united in marriage to Joseph Sweda on September 1, 1951, at Holy Assumption Orthodox Church in Lublin. She worked as a nurse at the Medford Clinic for 27 years and then moved to Madison, to be with her husband, where she worked at the sate Capitol as a secretary for 14 years.  In 1990, they retired and moved back to Lublin.

 

She was a member of Holy Assumption Orthodox Church.  Irene enjoyed helping and taking care of people.

 

She is survived by her husband, Joe, of Lublin; one brother, Marvin (Barb) Egle of Ladysmith; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 

Irene was preceded in death by her parents.
