Due to illness, J.W. Flynn returned home Saturday from Camp Canal, NWT., Canada, where he had been employed the past three months as an electrician with the U.S. engineers. Mr. Flynn was a patient at the Edmonton Hospital before returning home.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hart and his mother are moving into the house recently vacated by Mr. and Mrs. T.A. McCready. Mr. Hart is now connected with the conservation department, and is in charge of the tower station.
M.K. Repplinger, a resident when a youth of Fairview vicinity, but for many years past proprietor of the Joplin, Mo., ice cream factory and a fountain service in connection, spent the last of the week visiting relatives and old friends in these parts. Mr. Repplinger was in Chicago on business, and also visiting with friends, there, and took a few days off to visit his old home. It has been nearly twenty-five years since he was here.
Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Lundee were over from their farm near Blair last Monday visiting among their friends. They report a very successful year thus far on the farm.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Gower from near Granton, and Mr. and Mrs. James Hughes and Mrs. Lowe of Neillsville, were visitors with friends in the village and in Houghtonburg last Saturday. They also spent a short time in Alma Center.
Capt. And Mrs. K.L. Boullion and family, accompanied by his mother, left last Friday morning for Bismarck, N.D., for a visit with Mrs. K.L. Boullion’s people. They stopped in Twin Cities on the way spending a day with relatives. The auto party is expected to return today, and Capt. Boullion and family will return soon to Ft. McClellan, Ala.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hefty returned last Wednesday evening from a two week visit with relatives and friends at New Glarus.
G.H. Anderson and wife are now domiciled in the Free Methodist parsonage, having moved there from the Ben Hart house.
Mrs. Donald Sherwood and her younger daughter, from Eau Claire have been spending the week with Mrs. Sherwood’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Short.
