Merrillan (28 June 1962)

 

The W. S. C. S. of the Merrillan Methodist Church gave a noon luncheon June 12 honoring the superintendents and teachers of Vacation Bible School and Sunday school for their faithful service. The committee in charge included: Mrs. W. Rousey, Mrs. Lee Van Vleet, Mr. L. V. Hayden, Sr., and Mrs. Gladys Cormican.

 

Miss Susie McDonald of Michigan is vacationing for a month with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Frank and family.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sollberger of Neillsville called on Mrs. Leslie Sherman Sunday and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sollberger of Athens spent Sunday evening with Mrs. Leslie Sherman. 

 

Julia Galtrud of Menomonie is spending a week with Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Johnson.

 

Sunday guests at the Everett Frost home were Mr. and Mrs. Anson Rice, Anson, Jr., and Nancy and Elizabeth Randal, and Mr. and Mrs. John Holmes, all of Boscobel; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Janke and family of Alma Center, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Janke of Minneapolis, Mrs. Ray Lowel of Trempealeau, Mr. and Mrs. Chloris Lowel of New Lisbon, William Nemitz of Trempealeau, Mrs. Bill Millis and family of Black River Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Frost and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Jacobson and family of Alma Center.

 

Harry Vincent of Janesville spent the weekend with Mrs. Ernest Burlingame, and also enjoyed fishing here.

 

Bob Gile returned home Saturday after spending a week at Camp Decorah with the Boy Scouts.

 

Mrs. Stanley Erickson and daughter of West Salem, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Mattson, Mrs. Francis Johnson and Mrs. Robert Linder were picnicking Wednesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Peterson of Baldwin were callers at the Mrs. Nels Erickson home.

 

Miss Avis Erickson is spending a two-week vacation from her work at Minneapolis.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Olson of La Crosse called at the Bert Hanby home Thursday.

 

Mary Dagnon and Bert Hanby spent the weekend at Ferryville and helped her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Laurel Dagnon celebrate their twenty fifth wedding anniversary.

 

Mrs. Dagnon and three sisters, Mrs. Alvin Orrick, Mrs. Carson Linton and Mrs. Gladys Kimnel, and Bert Hanby attended the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. D. Randalls of Lynxville, Sunday afternoon. 

 

Amanda Hoff of La Crosse is spending a week with Mary Dagnon.

 

Dewane Horton and David Horton of Kenosha spent the weekend with Mrs. Angeline Horton.

 

Mrs. Lee Van Vleet and Renee, Mrs. Walter Cooper and Judy, Mrs. Roy Loomis, Mrs. Gib Gile, Mrs. Edwin Holmgreen, and Mrs. Robert Linder spent Friday afternoon at the George Purnell home, helping Nancy celebrate her birthday.

 

Anna Linder and Alvina Linder enjoyed a picnic with Freda Linder.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gadover and son of Wausau spent Sunday with Mrs. Charles Nielson.
