Miss Estella Fern Krohn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kohn, and Roger Staves, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Staves, were united in marriage at St. Joseph’s Church at Fairview, at 9:30 Saturday morning, June 10th, 1944. The Rev. R.J. Geissler performed the ceremony.
The bride wore a white marquisette dress and had a fingertip length veil with orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of cream roses and baby’s breath. The bridesmaids were her two sisters, Misses Evelyn and Inez Kohn. They wore pink and blue frosted marquisette gowns with small matching hats with veils. Each carried a bouquet of roses and baby’s breath.
The groom was attended by his brother, George Staves, and Joseph Menurd of Fairchild. The bride’s mother wore a printed silk dress, and the groom’s mother wore a navy blue silk jersey, and each had a corsage of American Beauty roses.
Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents to fifty relatives and friends.
A shower was held Tuesday evening in the Cleveland Town Hall, with about 100 people present. The couple received many fine gifts. A fine lunch was served.
The young couple are living with the groom’s parents in the town of Cleveland (Jackson Co., Wis.) at present.
