Flick, Jacob R. (1861? - 29 JUN 1944)
Jacob Reese Flick, a longtime resident of the town of Mentor (Clark Co., Wis.), died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Langworthy in Chippewa Falls, last Thursday morning. He was 83 years of age. He had been seriously ill for several weeks before death came. Mr. Flick devoted his life to farming until advancing age caused him to dispose of the farm, after which he made his home in Fairchild. His wife and one son, Harry, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Fairchild, Sunday afternoon, the Rev. F.J. Smith of Augusta, preaching the sermon. Dr. H.P. Langworthy sang "The Old Rugged Cross: and "Rock of Ages." Burial was in Fairchild Cemetery.
Surviving are two sons and five daughters: Ernest, Fairchild, Mrs. Fred Langworthy, Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Wesley Walker, Humbird; Mrs. Alta Palms, Mrs. Geo. Boyer, Neillsville; Vernon, DeSoto; Mrs. Cecil Walter, Altoona. There is one brother, Charles of Fairchild, and numerous grandchildren and other relatives.
