Miller, Ursula (4 AUG 1868 - 22 SEP 1944)

Mrs. Ursula Miller, daughter of Casper and Elizabeth Burghardt, passed away Sept. 22, 1944, at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 18 days.  She was born in Augsburg, Germany on Aug. 4, 1868.  In the year 1891 she was united in marriage with Ludwig Miller, and in 1898 they immigrated to America, settling at Ellinwood, Kansas, where Mr. Miller’s brother resided.  After a year they moved to Rib Lake, Wis., and in 1908 moved to the farm east of Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), where they lived until 1919.  At that time they sold the farm and went to Perkiomenville, Pa.  However, in 1922 they returned to their old home at Humbird, living on the farm until a few years ago, when they moved into the village.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her beloved husband, Ludwig; one daughter, Walla, Mrs. Lewis Kelsh, Milwaukee; four sons, Francis, Roselle, Ill., Henry, Hartland; Fred, Alma Center; and Matt R., Milwaukee; and fifteen grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by four infant children, and a son Lewis H., who passed away in 1920.

Short services were held at the home Monday forenoon, followed by services at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fairview, Rev. R.J. Geissler officiating.  Interment was in the cemetery at the church.

Pallbearers were Moritz Kretschmer, Fred Christen, Geo. Muller, Will Ringrose, Gust Anderson, and J. Arthur Johnson.

All the surviving children and their families attended the last rites.
